I engaged Reséndiz Wong, Abogados, for a fixed-fee corporate formation in Mexico, which was expected to result in a fully operational company ready to complete its RFC registration. That outcome was not achieved. While some documents were eventually delivered, the process was not completed in a manner that allowed the company to proceed smoothly with SAT registration. At my first SAT appointment, the RFC could not be obtained due to incomplete documentation, resulting in delays, multiple additional appointments, and significant out-of-pocket expenses. The matter was further complicated when a restriction related to the legal representative prevented completion of the RFC process. The resolution ultimately required revocation of the representative before the registration could proceed, further delaying the company’s ability to become operational. Throughout this process, I incurred substantial costs (in excess of $18,760) related to travel, scheduling, and repeated attempts to complete the registration. There was also a consistent lack of accountability in addressing the underlying issues, including initial requests for additional payment to correct problems before ultimately agreeing to cover revocation-related costs. The company formation process in Mexico involves multiple dependent steps. Delivering corporate books or bylaws alone is not sufficient if the structure prevents completion of SAT registration or required follow-up filings. Based on my experience, I regret choosing this firm and would not recommend their services. I encourage anyone considering corporate formation in Mexico to conduct thorough due diligence, clearly define the full scope through operational completion, and confirm all deliverables in writing before engaging counsel.
