I hired R Adame & Asociados to review a rental contract and ensure everything was legal and that there were no risks that could harm me during the rental process. Overall, the contract review itself was handled correctly, and there were no major legal issues identified. However, I believe the service could be improved with better communication between the lawyer and the client. There were opportunities to negotiate or adjust certain terms in the contract—such as deposit return conditions—that I have successfully modified in other agreements in the past. I feel these options were not fully explored or discussed with me. I later hired the firm a second time to help close out a prior agreement related to another property. While the matter was ultimately resolved and I did not have to pay anything, the process again lacked clear communication. It would have been helpful to first sit down together, review my perspective, and discuss strategy before engaging with the opposing counsel. Decisions were made without my input. I would have appreciated being walked through the process, understanding my options, and being given the opportunity to make informed decisions. When hiring a lawyer, I expect them not only to handle the legal aspects but also to actively represent and prioritize my best interests. That said, the outcomes were positive, and the service itself was effective. I simply believe that with more transparency, communication, and client involvement, the experience could have been much better.
